A brand new dark comedy from playwright Jessica Dickey
Written by award-winning playwright Jessica Dickey, Nan and the Lower Body is a comedy that retells the creation of the revolutionary Pap Smear, a test formed to detect cervical cancer and pioneered by physician George Nicholas Papanicolaou. This new play features Nan, the lab assistant to Dr. Papanicolaou and how she helped him to create a new examination that went on to transform how cervical cancer is screened for.
The production is directed by Giovanna Sardelli who recently directed plays Georgia Mertching Is Dead and Describe the Night. The play is part of Theatre Works exciting 2020/21 season.
